The 2-1 Indianapolis Stampede take on the 3-0 Mid-State Steel out of Peoria, Illinois. These two coaches met one time before with the Steel coming away with the win by 6 pts here in Indy back in 2006. This will be the Stampedes second road game of the year, and it second  road game with out their starting QB Dean Vinson. The Stampede Will go into another big road game with back QB James Causey running the ship. His last time out he passed for 100 yards 1 TD and 4 Ints, but still had his team in position to win the game with 40 seconds left on the clock on the Plowmens 25 yard line, but an Int ended that drive and the game.

Coach Carter was asked about his Starting QB missing the first two road games of the season. I don't think any head coach would be happy with going into a Big Road game with out your starter. This is semi-pro football things come up that you just have to go with. I aways tell my guys that God comes first then family, job and then football.  We will be ok with James at QB this weekend. This will be only his second start in his young semi-pro football career and in each game he plays he will learn something from each one. It is my job to help him manage the game and try to come out with the win. After this weekend QB Dean Vinson told coach Carter that he would be good to go for the rest of the season home or away games both.

For fans coming to see the game the address is:

Game Time: 7:00 pm
Tickets: $10.00
Lions and Stampede good game between to old friends in Melrose Park, IL this Sat at 7:00 pm. The Stampede O has been off the trail with Vinson leading the way. This could be the first game on the road for the Stampede with Vinson leading the way. The Stampede are 2-0 with him and 0-2 with out him. If he doesn't make it to Melrose, IL then QB James Causey will lead the Stampede. Last week Mr Causey didn't show up for the game so the stampede went with their WR/TE has QB Robert Payne.

The team will meet at Lafayette SQ Mall at 11:00am. We will pull out at 12:30pm. More info call office between 8:00 am to 4:30 pm 317 222-8309

The Stampede take on the Joliet Buccaneers from Joliet, IL in an Eastern Conference battle for the playoffs, with the Bucs looking to get that 4th spot and the Stampede trying to hold on to the 2nd spot and division lead. This should be a good game two years back coach Carter had this Bucs team down 28 to 14 only to come away from Joliet with a 30 to 28 lost. the game end with a Dean Vinson Int at their 16 yard line with 38 sec. to go in the game. Now the Stampede have them at home and are looking to over turn that 30-28 lost from to years ago.

The Stampede Fans and as well as New saw a good game by both teams last night, at the Stampedes new home field for the rest of the season. Their was 112 fans at the Tabernacle Presbyerian Church at 418 E 34th Street to see the Indianapolis Stampede come from 14 pts behind to win the game. The Stampede rushed for over 200 yards for the game, running back Imani Hughes lead the way with 179 yards and a TD. In the second half QB Dean Vinson hit TE Robert Payne for a 23 yard TD and  then hit WR Troy Summers for the 2 pt in third QR. In the middle of the fourth  QR Stampede QB Dean Vinson was hit on his throwing arm and had to go to the sideline. In come back up QB James Causey who did a super job on a four play drive that end on a 27 yard corner route to TE Robert Payne for the TD to tie the game up. With a little over 2 min. left in the game to go QB Dean Vinson cameback into the game and moved the ball 68 yards to go for the go ahead score and the win.  QB Dean Vinson's 40 yards TD pass to WR Tory Summers with 1:30 on the game clock to go give the Stampede the go head score and the win.
The Stampede Defense played well and where lead by their front seven and rookie DE KJ Rogers with 7.5 tackles and a forced fumble. The front seven come up with a total of  34.5 tackles a sack, a tip pass, and two force fumbles. League top CB Jay Cross give up two big plays in the 1st half of the game one going for 60 yards for the score in the first QR on a one play drive. In the second half the Joliet Buccaneers were on the move to score and take the go ahead score but CB J. Cross turned them away with Int take away on the Stampede 25 yard line. Stampede 26 Buccaneers 20.
The would like to say THANK YOU to everyone that showed up for our game and the young ladies that cheered for us, and the Staff TAB for all their help getting this game off the ground.

The Indianapolis Stampede win a big road game this pasted weekend over the Chicago Mustangs  28 to 6. As QB Dean Vinson goes 3 of 7 for 143 yards and 2 td's vs 1 int to lead the Stampede to a quick 13 to 0 lead before an injury puts him out of the game in the start. With Vinson out of the game the Stampedes had to play three other players at the QB position. Backup QB James Causey went 1 for7  and 1 int before giving way to TE Robert Payne who played like Mike Vick  at QB with a team high in rushing  70 yards on 7 att. His passing  game not so good with a  1 out of 10 for 6 yards. Then there was Mr Kennedy, Blake Kennedy the Stampedes FS going 3 out of 4 for 51 yards and no ints as he moved the team down field to set up RB Imani Hughes 11 yard td run and the last score of the day for both teams.
This game had big plays all over it from WR Julian Pitts 41 yard score from Vinson or WR Troy Summers one hand helmet catch for 88 yard tds. Summers had 3 Recd. for 108 yds and a TD in the game. The Stampede D came up with some BIG plays of it's own. Like backup FS  Robert Reed who turned in the best game he's had all season' with 3 ints and 122 yards and one Int taken back for the score by Mr Reed for 85 yards on that.  Reed lead the Stampede D with 3 ints out of the 7 ints the Stampede D had total on the night. Outside linebacker action Jackson lead the team with 6.5 total tickles and a tip pass. Outside LB Jose Escobar got into the scoring act with a tackle for the safety. The Mustangs only score come in the second QR on a run by QB Jose BJ Reyna. Again the Stampede control the time of possession.

The Stampede fans saw a very good game between the number 1 seeded Lincolnway Patriots and the number 2 seeded Indianapolis Stampede sat night. This game had a playoff feel to it with the Patriots trying to go 8-0 and the Stampede trying to go into the playoffs on a three roll. The Patriots took the lead with a big pass play from 40 yards out and then they added other score making it 14-0, before the Stampede could get on the broad with a 30 yard pass to WR Troy Summers form QB Dean Vinson to make the score 14-6. Midway into the fourth quarter with the score 21-14, and the Stampede on the Patriots 25 yard line with a third and long. QB Vinson drop back and throws a pass to WR Pitts in the end zone. The pass goes off the hands off Pitts and right into the arms of the Patriots CB who then returns it 88 yards and is tackled by a Stampede player. On the very next play the Patriots ran a end and around play with the WR for the score, and they went back up by 14 (28-14). The Stampede still had some life in them still going right down the field and scoring on a Vinson to Summers 22 yard passing TD in the left corner of the endzone. The Stampede stopped the Patriots on downs and had one more shot at sending this game into overtime, but with the ball on the Patriots 37 yard line and third and long with 40 second to go and no timeout. The Stampede took one last shot at the endzone QB vinson drop back to throw a deep pass to the Stampede TE R. Payne only to have it picked off at the 2 yard line.   If both of these two teams meet in the Conference Finals this should be another good one.
